In the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, momentum in gaming and competitive play continues to translate into formal steps that strengthen the wider industry around it. In that spirit, the Saudi Esports Federation has entered into two Memoranda of Understanding with ROC Esports and Team Stallions, a move that reflects a deliberate push to reinforce the country’s growing esports ecosystem.
The agreements underline a direction the federation has been steadily pursuing: building the structures that help competitive gaming thrive not only in the arena, but also behind the scenes. With these partnerships, the Saudi Esports Federation signals an intention to support clubs that contribute to sustainable sector development, while also sharpening Saudi Arabia’s position as a place where global esports ambitions can take root.
Partnerships Aligned With National Ambitions
These new understandings sit within the federation’s broader work to shape a comprehensive esports ecosystem that puts national talent at the center. The intention is to create conditions that encourage discovery, development, and long-term cultivation of skills, reflecting the goals tied to Vision 2030 and the National Esports and Gaming Strategy.
Rawan Al Butairi, CEO of the Saudi Esports Federation, framed the step as both a celebration of shared purpose and a continuation of structured growth. She said the federation is pleased to partner with ROC Esports and Team Stallions, describing them as clubs that help advance Saudi talent while supporting the sustainable development of the ecosystem.
In her remarks, Al Butairi emphasized that these collaborations are meant to carry forward programs and strategic initiatives that strengthen the sector’s foundations. She also linked that work to the federation’s wider goal of reinforcing the Kingdom’s standing as a leading global hub for esports, consistent with the objectives of Vision 2030.
From Training to Career Pathways
At the heart of the MoUs is a focus on Saudi professionals already working, or aiming to work, within the esports sector. The agreements concentrate on support and empowerment, with particular attention to building skills among both employees and athletes through programs and initiatives delivered by the Saudi Esports Academy.
The collaborative areas outlined in the agreements include specialized training programs and joint initiatives designed to help prepare a new generation of qualified national talent. The objective is to enhance professional readiness in a way that is structured and intentional, connecting development opportunities to the real requirements of a rapidly organizing sector.
The memoranda also extend beyond training itself by exploring potential career pathways for academy graduates. In doing so, the agreements reflect an approach that treats esports development as a full ecosystem, one where talent is identified, prepared, and then supported in taking the next step into professional roles that help the sector mature.
